Refund Policy | The Insight Trips
Refunds depend on the services booked, supplier rules, cancellation timing and the payment terms communicated in your booking confirmation. This page explains the general process; your confirmed booking terms always take priority.
1. When a refund may apply
A refund may be due when a refundable service is cancelled within the applicable cancellation window, when a supplier approves a refund, or when The Insight Trips confirms a refundable amount in writing. Some services—especially issued airline tickets, permits, activity tickets and supplier-paid reservations—may be partly or fully non-refundable.
2. Existing published cancellation schedule
The current cancellation page published by Insight Trips states: airline tickets once issued are non-refundable; a cancellation charge of ₹5,000 per person may apply immediately after booking; and percentage deductions increase as departure approaches. Please verify the exact deduction for your booking with the team before cancelling.
3. How refunds are processed
- Send the cancellation/refund request through the contact details used for your booking.
- The team reviews the booking, supplier confirmations and applicable cancellation terms.
- Any approved refundable amount is communicated before processing where practical.
- Refunds are normally returned through the original or an agreed payment method after applicable supplier deductions and processing requirements.
4. Timelines
Refund timing can vary because stays, airlines, transport operators, payment gateways and other suppliers may take different processing times. A refund should not be considered complete until the relevant amount has been processed or confirmed by the payment provider.
5. Non-refundable and third-party charges
Taxes, gateway charges, visa/permit charges, convenience fees, issued tickets and supplier-specific penalties may be non-refundable where the relevant supplier terms say so. The booking confirmation should be checked for the exact treatment.
